The 2016 UrbaCity Challenge is fast approaching! Are you excited? We sure are!! This is UrbaCity’s 6th consecutive year since being founded in 2011, and our 5th consecutive year being an UrbaCity Challenge sponsor. We have absolutely love partnering with UrbaCity every year, it’s always high energy and super fun. We get to meet so many interesting people and share our passion for the Segways with them (you!), how could it get any better? Oh right! We also help them raise thousands of dollars every year for prostate cancer research. Last year UrbaCity raised and donated $50, 081.95 to the Island Prostate Center, how incredible is that?
What is UrbaCity?
Now unless you’re already familiar with UrbaCity Challenge you’re probably wondering what it is. I’m so glad you asked! UrbaCity is essentially Victoria’s very own Amazing Race. Totally awesome right? Racers are in teams of two or four for corporate teams and raise a minimum donation to enter. Challenges are broken down into brawn and brain categories and teams are either brain, brawn or ultra (the do it alls). The racers start at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Center and run around the city to complete challenges as a team as fast as possible to race back and be the first to cross the finish line. I don’t have any first hand experience being a racer but it sure looks like a lot of fun and more then a little sweaty.
I’m sure if you’ve competed in UrbaCity before you’re already signed up and have been busy fundraising and training to get ready. If you’ve never tried it before you should absolutely consider it!
You’ll have such a great time and you still have time to get out there and fund raise, it’s such a great cause so why not? I can promise you’ll see they city in a way you’ve never seen it before and fall into bed that night super tired with a giant smile on your face. Register today!
