Electric Bike Limited Warranty

Please fully read and understand our warranty conditions before using your new e-bike.

This warranty supersedes all other references to warranty found anywhere else for RTG E-Bikes.

Warranty Duration

Ride the Glide offers a two year limited warranty with the sale of every new RTG e-bike unless otherwise specified at the time of sale. The warranty period can be extended an additional year for a total of three years for an additional fee (by model fees listed below), the warranty is only available for extension up to 10 days after the sale date.

Warranty Transfer

The limited warranty applies to the original purchaser, confirmation of original may be requested for a warranty claim. In the event of a private sale the remaining warranty can be transferred to the new owner by following this procedure:

  • Either the seller or buyer must contact Ride the Glide within 7 days of the sale
  • Original receipt must be provided
  • Details for the new owner will be requested and kept on file
  • A bike inspection must be booked an completed by Ride the Glide for the transfer to be valid
  • A $100 warranty transfer fee will be collected

What is Covered

The limited warranty covers all parts and components against defects in materials and workmanship of the e-bike. Any replaced parts will be covered under warranty for the remainder of the warranty term. The supplied charger is only covered for a period of 1 month. Including but not limited to the following components:

  • Motor
  • Battery
  • Display
  • PAS sensor
  • Throttle
  • Controller
  • Wiring harness
  • Charger (1 month)
  • Frame (5 years)
  • Lights

What is Not Covered

The limited warranty does not cover any part failure due to (but not limited):

  • Damage due to improper use, such as:
    • Over use of motor power/exclusive use of the motor
    • Not shifting gears, particularly on mid-drive models
  • Damage due due to lack of proper maintenance
  • Damage due to improper maintenance
  • Repairs, warranty or otherwise, not completed by Ride The Glide
  •  Modifications
    • Any issue arising from or related to a modification
  • Damage of any other kind
  • Wear and tear resulting from regular or irregular usage
  • Water damage
  • Stunt or competition riding
  • Commercial use

Additionally the limited warranty does not cover:

  • Shipping costs
  • Costs of labour not performed in house
  • Reimbursement for towing, loss of use, loss of time, inconvenience, incidental or consequential damages.

Battery Warranty

Charging and storing procedure:

  • Charge only using the provided charger
  • Unplug the charger once it indicates the battery is charged
  • Do not leave a charging battery unattended
  • Only charge the battery indoors, away from any direct heat source or sunlight
  • Do not charge a warm or cold battery, wait for the battery to reach room temperature before charging
  • Do not fully charge the battery if you will not use it within the same week
  • For long term storage (6+ weeks) charge or discharge the battery to 40-60% SOC
    • 45-49V for 48V batteries
    • 35-37V for 36V batteries
  • Check the battery charge every 4-6 weeks, cycle the battery if possible every 4 months
  • Never store a fully discharged battery, even short term

Warranty of the battery will be void if:

  • A charger other then the original supplied charger is used
    • In the case of loss, theft or damage of the original, a charger purchased from Ride the Glide may be used
  • The battery is stored or charged outside
  • The battery is dropped
  • Charging and storing procedures are not followed

What Ride The Glide Will Do

  • Repair the part/e-bike
  • Replace the part
  • If after a reasonable number of attempts to fix the e-bike (as determined by Ride the Glide) are unsuccessful Ride the Glide will replace the whole e-bike
  • If fixing or replacing the e-bike does not result in a satisfactory resolution of the issue Ride the Glide will issue a refund for the return of the bike
    • Up to 2 months: less a 15% re-stocking fee (based on Ride the Glide’s discretion and the condition of the e-bike)
    • After 2 months: Ride the Glide will offer a refund at their discretion based on the condition of the e-bike.
    • If the e-bike is in deplorable or un-maintained condition, as deemed by Ride the Glide they reserve the right to not issue any refund
  • Will waive labour fees for service related to warranty work

How Warranty is Conducted

For local customers:

  • Contact Ride the Glide about a warranty claim ASAP, not in excess of 24 hrs of the onset of the issue
    • Failure to do so could void your warranty for this incident
    • Preferred contact is service ticket or phone call
  • Ride the Glide will request information about the nature of the issue
  • You will be asked to book an appointment to bring your bike in for evaluation, or you can request a pick up for a fee
  • Your bike will be evaluated in respect to the warranty claim
    • If the issue is deemed to fall within the warranty it will be repaired
    • If the issue is deemed to not fall within the warranty you will be notified of the reason why and the cost for the repair

For non-local customers:

  • Contact Ride the Glide about a warranty claim ASAP, not in excess of 24 hrs of the onset of the issue
    • Failure to do so could void your warranty for this incident
    • Preferred contact is service ticket, please provide as much detail as possible
  • Ride the Glide will request supporting information which could include but is not limited to:
    • Proof of purchase
    • Pictures of the e-bike
    • Video of the issue
  • Depending on the nature of the issue it may be possible to remotely diagnose the issue, or it may not be
  • If the issue can be remotely diagnosed (depending on the customers experience level) a replacement part will be shipped with instructions on how to install
  • If the issue cannot be remotely diagnosed or the customer does not have the necessary experience or tools they will either have to:
    • Ship the bike back to Ride the Glide (at customers expense)
    • Find a shop that can assist in the diagnosis/repair (other shops labour at customers expense)

IF a customer contacts us about an issue but fails to follow up in regards to that issue in a timely manner Ride the Glide reserves the right to withhold warranty for that issue. Lack of follow up for over 30 days will automatically void the warranty for the issue in question. It is not Ride the Glide’s responsibility to pursue the customer for requested follow up information. If you believe you have not been replied to please check your junk and spam folders, if no correspondence is found the customer is required to reach out to keep the request moving forward.
