Our personal guarantee that your product has been inspected and tested before being sent out to you.

Our Personal Guarantee

We at Ride the Glide are proud to guarantee that all products are personally prepared and inspected before being shipped out to you.  That means you can have peace of mind knowing that your product is in full working order when you receive it.

Warranty

We provide the warranty parts and service on all of the products that we sell. For you this means you only have one company that you have to deal with. No having to play piggy in the middle with third party companies which means you get service quicker and get out gliding again sooner. We are almost always reachable by phone or email to get you serviced as fast as possible. Our warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable, however we also offer fee based service. Contact us for more details.

Any and all shipping costs related to warranty work are the sole responsibility of the customer.

If you are looking to have warranty work on a product that you bought but didn’t buy from us, please contact the company you purchased your product from. If you cannot reach the original seller to obtain warranty work we offer fee based services.

Return Policy

  • Any E-Bike purchased with the BC Rebate Program is not eligible for a refund
  • Returns are accepted within 7 days of purchase for a full refund, minus any original shipping charges, provided that:
    • You have contacted us
    • The item is unused, unopened and in the original packaging
    • You have proof of purchase
    • For products that have been shipped you are responsible for the return shipping cost
    • Item will be received and inspected before any refund is issued
  • Opened and or used products may be accepted for return with a minimum 15% restocking fee provided that:
    • The product is returned within 21 days of purchase
    • You have proof of purchase
    • For e-bikes and scooters a maximum of 10 km on the odometer
    • In new condition – clean, no dents, scratches or other damage
    • If shipping, the product is returned in its original packaging
    • Upon receipt, returned products will be inspected and evaluated to ensure compliance of the above requirements before any refund is issued
  • Any product that does not meet the above criteria is not eligible to be returned for a refund
  • All shipping costs are at the expense of the customer and will not be refunded. The original shipping cost is not refundable.
  • Any incurred credit charges will be at the expense of the customer and will not be refunded (3%)
  • Helmets are not eligible for return or refund

Refund/Cancellation Policy

  • Orders not yet fulfilled/shipped are eligible for a full refund
  • Once an order has been shipped it cannot be cancelled
  • Refunds for pre-orders
  • For refunds by credit card, PayPal or any other method where fees are incurred, the fees (3%) are the responsibility of the customer and will not be refunded. 

Exchange Policy

  • For your product to be eligible for exchange it must be:
    • Unopened
    • Unused
    • In the original packaging
  • Used products may not be exchanged in any circumstance
  • E-Bikes purchased with the BC Rebate Program may only be exchanged for an e-bike of equal or greater value
  • The product you are exchanging for must be of equal or greater value, for any items of lesser value no credit will be given
  • Helmets are not eligible for exchange

Shipping Policy

  • Free Shipping: if an item is eligible for free shipping it will be indicated on the items page
    • Items on sale may not qualify for free shipping 
    • Rural areas may not qualify for free shipping
      • If you place an order and do not qualify for free shipping you will be notified and additional payment will be required before your item is shipped
  • Purchases are considered delivered and complete once shipped, not once received by the customer
  • All items shipped will be shipped with a declared value of $100
    • This means in the event of a lost or damaged shipment you will only receive $100 as compensation
    • If you would like your shipment insured at full value please contact us for an insurance quote
    • Shipping insurance is highly recommended for scooters, e-bikes and EUCs
  • If you have a preferred shipping company please indicate it upon checkout. Use of a different shipping company may result in extra charges.
  • Large shipments, such as e-bikes or large scooters, are shipped LTL Freight through Day & Ross. These shipments may require pick up from your closest Day & Ross depot. This is most likely for rural areas. You will be contacted after your order is placed if this applies to you.
  • Packages will be sent out within 1 – 2 business days after full payment is received.
  • We will notify you as soon as your shipment is sent and provide you with a tracking number by email.
  • For any unseen circumstance where we cannot ship your item out promptly you will be contacted immediately

Products CANNOT be shipped to a P.O. Box.

Pre-Order Policy

  • Pre-order prices may be subject to change in unforeseen extenuating circumstances, if there are any changes you will be notified before full payment is required
  • Under normal circumstances your deposit will deposit will guarantee you a lower advertised price
  • Full payment is required before your item ships, items will ship in the order full payment is received
  • Deposits ≤$500 are fully refundable for any reason
    • Less 3% credit card processing fees if paid by credit card
  • Deposits >$500 are either 50% refundable 50% in store credit, or 100% in store credit
  • Pre-orders fully paid for are not eligible for a cash refund, but will become an in store credit

Anti-Fraud Policy

Due to an increase in fraudulent orders we will be now be instating an anti-fraud policy on all orders over $1,000 charged to credit cards.

  • You must provide a valid phone number that you can be reached at
  • You may be required to provide photo id that shows the name the order has been placed under and the shipping address the product is to be shipped to

If you fail to meet these criteria your order will be subject to cancellation without warning.

Service Storage Policy

Bikes and scooters in for service have 2 free business days of storage once work is completed. Products left longer than 2 days are subject to storage fees of  $5/day or $20/week. Ride the Glide is not responsible for damage or loss that results from a product being stored with us.

Ride the Glide will not be held responsible for products left longer than 60 days. Any product that has been left for 60 days will be considered abandoned and either recycled, donated or sold to cover the cost of repairs. You will be contacted several times by phone well before this occurs. In the case of extenuating circumstances please contact us ASAP so arrangements can be made.

Ride the Glide is not responsible for missed massages, wrong numbers or full voicemails. If you have not heard from us please contact us for an update.

Ride the Glide will not be held responsible for the battery health of products left in our care, it is the customer’s sole responsibility to ensure their product is sufficiently charged before their service appointment.

Liability

  • Ride the Glide is not liable for any damages related to incidents involving lithium-ion batteries. Read and closely follow the instructions that come with your device regarding charging and battery maintenance.  All of our devices are high quality, but there is still risk with any batteries, so use common sense.
  • Ride the Glide is not liable for any injuries related to incidents or accidents to the user or afflicted third-parties involving the use of any of the devices we sell. We promote safe use and always recommend wearing a helmet and protective gear while riding in addition to safe training practices.
  • Ride the Glide is not liable for any injuries related to incidents or accidents to the user or afflicted third-parties involving the use of the Zero Honeycomb tires. We offer these products due to high demand but do not recommend their use during high speed use, prolonged use, or the use by larger heavier weight riders. The purchaser is pre-warned about this short coming of the product and by following through with purchase, fully and completely accept responsibility.

Legal

Know and be aware of your local laws surrounding the use of these fabulous alternative electric mobility devices.  Currently, Nova Scotia is the only province that legally allows Segways on sidewalks and bike lanes.  Mostly everywhere else Segways, electric unicycles, electric scooters, the MiniPro and balance boards (or hover boards) are not defined in the Canadian motor vehicle acts, which means they are considered motor vehicles.  Motor vehicles are prohibited on sidewalks and bike lanes.  These devices are mostly only legally only permitted on private property, trails and parks where permitted by municipal bylaws.  We encourage you to contact the correct authorities to determine where you are permitted to glide.  At this time many, many users are out there everyday gliding without issue so don’t be dissuaded from using your personal mobility device of choice!

The only way the laws will get changed is if the public demands it.  We want to go green but so far the government has tunnel vision about how we (the public) can do that.  Currently going green only encompasses an electric vehicle, public/mass transit or cycling.  If you are tired of this suppression and want to glide your own way, then take action and write a letter to your MLA and city council.

Regardless of your decision to use or not use an alternative mode of transportation like our products, we strongly recommend that you always be safe and wear a helmet along with safety gear and reflective gear.  Abide by the rules and use common courtesy.  It will help you go a long way without drawing negative attention to yourself and perhaps an encounter with the authorities.
